Health is not just about avoiding illness. At Health Works, we understand that helping someone to find work can often be one of the best ways of improving their health. The healthier you are, the more employable you are, and vice versa.

Delivering Results
We have:
- A strong track record of supporting people into employment through volunteering
- Expertise in supporting clients to overcome health barriers into work
- Expertise in supporting hard-to-reach clients including people recovering from substance misuse, people with mental health problems and people who are long-term unemployed
- Qualified IAG staff
How we can help:
Individual Support
Supporting individuals one-to-one to create and implement an action plan, including initial assessment, goal setting and ongoing support. This can include:
- Employability skills assessment
- Vocational skills assessment
- Determining career goals
- Developing CVs and personal statements
- Interview skills
- Job searches
- In-work support
Once the client has an action plan in place, we help them to identify their training and support needs and signpost them to the appropriate services. Action plans are reviewed through regular supervisions at three monthly intervals.
Training
We provide a variety of training linked to employment, including:
- Community development
- Employability skills
- Health improvement & awareness
- Life management
- Money management
- Confidence building
Work experience and work shadowing
We can offer clients hands-on work experience working alongside Health Works staff. Where relevant this includes providing them with up to date CRBs that may make them more employable in some sectors.
We offer work placements in the following areas: youth work, community development, administration, marketing, project development, event management, activity coordination, activity delivery, fundraising, support work, care work, social care, research and evaluation and community health.
