HealthWorks Management Committee

Our management committee meets bi-monthly and oversees the running of HealthWorks. The committee comprises charity trustees who are also non executive company directors.

Sandra Potesta, Chair

Sandra has a wealth of community and business sector expertise.  Her current role as director of the Regional Language Network Yorkshire and Humber gives us a a clear understanding of the cultural issues that need to be addressed in expanding our services into other areas.

James Harkness

James brings with him many years of arts and events expertise, most recently from his current role as the Event Manager for Greentop Circus.  In addition to helping to inform the evolution of our service offer , his experience also gives us the perspective of another local charity.

Penny Lewis

Penny has a background in education and health. She has worked for Trent and Sheffield Health Authorities, and lectured in several universities in business/ health and social care management. Now retired, she brings that range of experience to the board.

Lee Bell

Lee has been involved in the health and fitness industry since 1999. Graduating with an honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science, Lee went on to complete a Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Science. He has worked alongside professional sportspeople at an elite level and taught exercise and health related courses within Further education.  Lee has developed a passion around the area of Strength and Conditioning and is currently involved in the further development of vocational training for Envisage.

Ciaran Hurley

Ciaran has been a registered nurse since 1994.  After a career in Operating Department nursing he took a job as a lecturer in adult nursing in 2005.  Ciaran teaches health care ethics and law at Sheffield Hallam University.  He has links with surgical wards at the Northern General Hospital and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.   He is also a member of two national organisations, The Association for Perioperative Practice and the Royal College of Nursing.

Ciaran is interested in health projects that help people to make healthy choices about their lives.   His personal choices are to exercise regularly, to have an active social life, to eat well and enjoy his work and hobbies.  Ciaran is also a volunteer leader of a dance group called “Lindy Hop Sheffield”
